Foursomes Championships

Its that time of year to play the Foursomes Championships or the "Sorry" game as some members would call it.

An email was sent earlier in the week detailing how the event will run this year.

Tee times for the 1st round will be drawn tonight at 6pm during the draw.

Tee times before 10am on Saturday 19th August are exclusively for Foursomes Championships. Players will not be able to play stableford if their partners do not turn up. There will be tee times for stableford after 10am for those not interested in playing Foursomes. Click on the link below if you have not yet read the email sent to members.

Cock of the Walk Results

Andy Azzy and Michael Issa have secured a place on Eastlake's honor board by winning the final match of the Cock of the Walk last Saturday against Anne Tilbury and John Bagnall.

It was a tight match that was tied after 15 holes, however, Michael had a hot putter all day which gave the new members the the edge over the Eastlake Veterans.

Congratulations Michael & Andy!

W. Gibson and TL.Warren Trophies report

The B and C Grade Pennants are well underway for this year with teams already having completed 3 games, 1 home and 2 away.  So far, the C grade team has been the standout, winning 2 games (including 1 away at Asquith) and only losing to Kareela GC by the smallest of margins. They currently sit at the top of the table in their section.

In turn, the B grade team has not had its best year with only one draw and 2 loses, leaving them at the bottom of the table. The boys will look to improve their position in the standings this Sunday agains Asquith at Eastlake.

Best of luck to both teams this Sunday!

The game kicks off at 5pm. The kitchen will be open serving great food as always. Steak special for $25 will be running all day and to top it off we'll be selling pints of Gage Roads Single Fin Summer Ale for Schooner Prices from 4pm - 7pm.

Hoping we see a big crowd at the clubhouse wearing Green and Gold, cheering on the Matildas!

Snake Sightings

We are getting several reports of snake sightings around the course. In particular, next to the 11th tee around where the water dragons and turtles can be seen. This picture was taken on Wednesday and as you can tell, this is no baby snake!

Other sightings have been around the path from the 15th to 16th holes and in the grassy area behing the 16th tee. We are told there is a 5 footer red belly living in that area.

We reccomend that you think twice before venturing too deep to try and retrieve a golf ball from the bushes.
