Course Renovations

This year's green renovations were completed by the course team on Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th September, with all greens cored using 13mm hollow tines. The core holes from this process were collected by the course team and will be used to reseed the spare 10th green.

With the green renovations now complete, Simon and his team will commence the fairway renovations over the coming weeks with each fairway due to be scarified and cored. This process allows excess organic matter to be removed, thus allowing water to penetrate into the soil and reducing water pooling following excess rain.

We appreciate that these renovation practices might mean the course isn't presented in its best condition for the short term, however members should enjoy the benefits of this necessary work over the forthcoming summer.

Club Championships

With the foursomes' championships having recently been decided, we now turn our attention to this year's Club Championships, scheduled for early November.

The format for this year is stroke play and will be run over the first 2 weekends of November with play on both Saturday and Sunday, instead of the customary four consecutive Saturdays.

The first two rounds will be contested on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th November, with members keen to participate asked to complete and submit a registration form available below or from within the Office.

2023 Club Championships Registration Form

Like professional events, all entrants will play early one day and late the other. Entrants must specify on the registration form if they would like to play Early / Late or Late / Early. Entrants will not be allowed to play early or late both days.

There will be a cut after 36 holes, with the top 12 players and ties in each grade qualifying for the 3rd round on Saturday, 11 November. The final round will see the top 8 players plus ties in each grade play on Sunday, 12 November to decide our 2023 Club Champions.

We hope members will enjoy this new format and look forward to a large number of members participating.

Ballot Box

Returning Officer Required

The Club is currently seeking a member to act as the Returning Officer for this year's Board elections. As has been the case in year's past, the ballots will be counted by Elections Australia Pty Ltd with the Returning Officer only required to validate the results.

Members interest in assisting the Club with this position are encouraged to contact Rob Blain (General Manager) at: manager@eastlakegolfclub.com.au

Cancellation Policy

Members are reminded that the Club's Cancellation Policy is now in effect, which means that:

* Those members who cancel by contacting the Pro-Shop after the Saturday and Sunday timesheets close (7pm day prior) and before their tee time will be invoiced for their competition fee ($14).

* Any member who 'No Shows' (does not cancel by contacting the Pro-Shop before their tee time) for their tee time on a Saturday and Sunday will face a $36 fine in addition to their missed competition fee.

* Members have until 5pm the Thursday prior to 'swap' a tee time with a member already on the timesheet, after such time the member next on the waitlist will fill the vacant time.

These measures have been introduced to give all members the opportunity to play and enjoy their weekend golf.
