Course Renovations

Members will no doubt have seen the hard work that our course team has displayed in recent weeks, renovating the course ahead of summer. Whilst the greens are now well on their way to recovery from the coring process, our fairways, tees and surrounds have also been scarified and cored in the past two weeks.

This essential practice is designed to break up the thatch layer that develops following frequent mowing and allow water and nutrients to penetrate to the roots below.

It is expected that this work will be completed by early next week, and following an application of fertilizer, we can expect to see the benefits of this work during the Championships and warmer months.  Please join us in thanking Simon and his team for all their hard work during this busy renovation period.

Course Marshall

The Club is seeking expressions of interest from members who might be able to assist as the Club's course marshal on Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons throughout the summer months.

This paid position will be responsible for ensuring guests to the Club abide by the Club's rules, keep up with the group in front and enjoy their time out on the course.

If this sounds like a role you'd be interested in, please contact Andres Michelsen (operations@eastlakegolfclub.com.au) to register your interest.

Club Championships

The format of the Club Championships this year is stroke play and will be run over the first 2 weekends of November with play on both Saturday and Sunday, instead of the customary four consecutive Saturdays.

The first two rounds will be contested on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th November, with members keen to participate asked to complete and submit a registration form available below or from within the Office.

2023 Club Championships Registration Form

Like professional events, all entrants will play early one day and late the other. Entrants must specify on the registration form if they would like to play Early / Late or Late / Early. Entrants will not be allowed to play early or late both days.

There will be a cut after 36 holes, with the top 12 players and ties in each grade qualifying for the 3rd round on Saturday, 11 November. The final round will see the top 8 players plus ties in each grade play on Sunday, 12 November to decide our 2023 Club Champions.

The 2023 Women’s Club Championships will be contested over 36-holes on Sunday 5 and Sunday 12 November, with tee times set to be reserved for those eligible competitors.

We hope members will enjoy this new format and look forward to a large number of members participating.
