Reserved Times for Pennants

Members are advised that over the next several weeks the Club will reserve some Sunday tee times for hosting the Major and Mixed Pennants. Hosting Pennants may mean some members have to play slightly later than their usual time, however any disruption will be kept to a minimum. The Club appreciates member's understanding and hopes members will support and celebrate the efforts of our representative players.

Pace of Play

Members are reminded that the Club employs the Verifeye (bag tag) software to assist in managing Pace of Play at the Club. This software provides management with a daily report, from which slow play letters are sent to groups finishing more then 15 minutes behind the group in front.

To-date, nearly 100 letters have been sent to members since the start of October, reminding them of the Club's expectations with regards to Pace of Play. In particular, that early groups complete their rounds in 3 hours 40 minutes, so that the last competition group can complete their round in 4 hours 20 minutes. In order to make this process as accurate as possible, members who have yet to collect their Verifeye bag tag are encouraged to see the Pro Shop staff.

In general, the Pace of Play at the Club is quite good, with the below graph showing the average Pace of Play for the field each day last week:

Tee Renovations

Further to our last edition of the eNews, the 6th and 9th tees have now been re-turfed by the course team and have commenced growing in. Both of these tees experience significant periods of shade throughout the day, which hinders growth and recovery. It is hoped that with the continued good growing conditions, these tees can be returned to play by the end of summer. Hole 2B will continue to be in play, during the time necessary for the new turf to take hold.

Bar Promotions

Bar Promotions

Eastlake Golf Club currently has two promotions running at the Bar in partnership with some of our suppliers.

Local brewery Gage Roads who suppliers Magners Irish Cider, is currently running a national promotion where one lucky winner will receive an all-expenses paid trip to Ireland. To enter this promotion, members need only purchase two Pints of Magners and upload their 'Magners Moment' with the draw to be performed at the end of March.

The Club has recently begun stocking Coopers Pale Ale on tap and to celebrate Coopers has kindly donated a logoed Titleist Golf bag, for one lucky Coopers customer. Members only need purchase a schooner of Coopers, to go into the draw to win the golf bag, with the prize to be drawn on Saturday, 17 February.

Score Submission (Mi-Score)

Of late, there appears to have been some confusion when submitting scores following a competition round, particularly when there are playing partners using the physical card vs the Mi-Score app.

If using the Mi-Score app, players are in effect marking their own score and as such when the hit the blue submit agreed score (pictured), they are confirming their score for the comp.

In contrast, when scoring a physical scorecard for someone not on the app, the physical card needs to be entered through the card readers in the Clubhouse to confirm the player's score.

Hole Indexes

At the recent meeting of the Match & Greens Committee, the playability data for all three courses (Black, Blue and White) was presented and reviewed.

There were some minor discrepancies between the difficulty of some holes and how they are rated and as such, new course ratings will come into effect from February 1st, 2024.

These new indexes will reflect the difficulty of each hole over the past 12 months and should ensure they better reflect the true difficulty of each hole.
