Eastlake Senior Open

Eastlake Senior Open

The Eastlake Senior Open will be played on Tuesday 2nd July after a successful event in 2023.  This year's tournament will be an 18-hole stroke play competition from the blue tees, with the field teeing off in a 9:00am shotgun start.

This event is open to male amateur golfers over the age of 50 that have an active GA handicap equal or less than 18.0.

The cost for the Open will be $65 for Eastlake GC members and $80 for visitors. The entry fee includes a shared cart and a light lunch after golf. There will be Scratch and Net Prizes, as well as a prize for the super senior division (Over 65).

Registrations are now open via MiTournament or by calling the club on 02 9663 1374.

13th Hole

13th Hole Cart Paths

Members are advised that the two weeks of rain to start this month have meant the planned path work on the 13th hole has had to be delayed.

The current course condition is to wet and would see the concrete trucks create significant damage so this work will be rescheduled to next month when the conditions are more suitable.

Once the Club receives full details of the work schedule, we will update members on the temporary course measures in play.

Car Park Asphalting

Members will be pleased to see that work has commenced this week on repairing the damaged sections of the car park. This work involved excavating around the areas badly affected by tree roots, including the Coral Tree area (pictured below) and the area leading from the car park to the first tee.

It was agreed to simply repair the worst areas at this stage rather than re-do the whole car park given the work planned for the far end of the car park under the upcoming Course Safety plans.

Members are advised that the ongoing work has blocked the exit route from the car park (nearest the canal) until Tuesday when the work will be complete, so cars entering and exiting the car park over the weekend will need to take extra care.

The exit where the truck is parked will be blocked this weekend.

3rd Hole

3rd Hole Fairway Bunker

Members attending the Club this week will have noticed that our course team has filled in the fairway bunker on the 3rd hole that was ruined by the heavy rain event early in the year.

The relevance of this bunker was discussed by the Match Committee following this rain damage, and it was agreed that the removal of the bunker was warranted.

Following the excavation work this week, the course team plans to complete turfing this area on Tuesday, with the hole to be closed on this day.

Mothers Day

Mother's Day

The Club hosted close to fifty guests last weekend for Mother's Day, with several members bringing their families to the Club to celebrate this special occasion.

Our chefs and bar staff excelled in their presentation and service with those in attendance enjoying a delicious three course meal featuring fillet mignon or pan seared salmon, with creme brulee or salted caramel tart for dessert.

Feedback from those in attendance was very positive and it was great to see all the mothers in attendance enjoying the day.
