Next Week's Club & Course Work

Dear Members

With a busy week ahead in both the Club and on the Course, members are advised on the following functions and work planned so any disruptions can be avoided:

Clubhouse Function (Saturday, 3rd August)

As noted in last week's newsletter, the Club will be hosting a special event tomorrow evening. To accommodate this, the Club will be closed to members from 6:00pm. We appreciate your understanding and patience, as this early closure is necessary for us to prepare for the event and ensure a smooth experience for all attendees. Thank you for your cooperation.

Clubhouse Roof Restoration

Starting next week, we will begin the restoration of the Clubhouse roof, a project expected to take approximately 3 to 4 weeks. This work will include removing the old air-conditioning units and hot water systems, replacing the existing roofing sheets, and the installation of solar panels in early September.

During this period, the disabled parking spaces located between the loading dock and the members' locker room will be unavailable to facilitate crane access to the roof. Disabled members are welcome to use any vacant Board member parking spots during this time. Additionally, several parking spaces may be occupied by a large skip bin as part of the project.

4th & 15th Hole Work

Next week, the arborist will be on-site to remove several pine trees between holes 4 and 15, identified in the Course Safety Plans below. To ensure player and staff safety during this process, holes 4 and 15 will be closed on Tuesday, August 6th. Bark chips will be stored a top the hill of the fourth hole in preparation for the native tree planting in early October. Please note that these bark chip piles are considered Course Staff Work, and players are entitled to free relief.

Additionally, our course team will be working on drainage installation between the fourth and fifteenth fairways throughout the week. This may result in partial or complete closures of these holes at times. The schedule for the week is as follows:

  • Monday, August 5th: Temporary tees on holes 4 (Par 5) & 15 (Par 3) from the fairway.
  • Tuesday, August 6th: Social play only, with the first tee time at 9:30 am. Holes 4 and 15 will be closed, but holes 2B and 19 will be open.
  • Wednesday, August 7th - Friday, August 9th: Temporary tees on holes 4 (Par 5) & 15 (Par 3) from the fairway.

Please be aware that the temporary course setup will likely make these holes play significantly shorter than their usual par. Unfortunately, Golf NSW limits the number of temporary course setups we can use, which is why we're introducing these shorter holes to allow competition players to be handicapped during this period.

We thank members and guests for their patience and understanding while this work takes place.
