Warren & Gibson Pennant

With one week to go in the round robin section of the Warren (B Grade) and Gibson (C Grade) Pennant, the Club's B Grade side is in a strong position to progress to the knockout stage. Having beaten Cumberland last weekend to sit atop the table, the team will host the return fixture this weekend, and a win will see them through to the knockout stage.

The Club's C Grade Pennant team have had a tougher season to-date with another narrow loss last weekend at Cumberland. This weekend's home match is significant in deciding who progresses through to the knockout stage and the team will be keen to record a victory over Cumberland to end the season.

Congratulations to both teams on their efforts this year, and we await with anticipation the outcome of this weekend's matches.

4th Hole Planting

Course Work

Despite some inclement weather last week, the course team has been busy planting out of the hill between the 4th and 15th holes to support the irrigation work in this area (pictured). Shaping of this bank will occur naturally over time through the effects of the elements, with the plantings adding stability and improving the aesthetic of the area.

The team commenced the spray program this week on the 4th, 6th and 18th holes ahead of the tree planting in October. These areas have been deemed GUR and fenced to prevent carts from entering, with members and guests entitled to free relief at the nearest point no nearer the hole.

Members are reminded that Spring Course Renovations are scheduled for Monday 9th and Tuesday 10th September and that the course will be closed on these days for this necessary course work.

Scramble

Eastlake GC Scramble Event

The Club played host to the annual Scramble competition on Tuesday, with 52 players taking part and striving to win through to the regional finals.

Winners on the day were member Sam Chiplin's team (pictured) who finished with a very impressive score of 53.875, narrowly ahead of a visiting team on 54.5. Sam's team will now join Club Professional Alex Sutherland for the regional finals at Stonecutters Ridge GC, where they will attempt to qualify for the National final in November.
