Noosa Springs

New Reciprocal Clubs

The Board recently undertook a review of the Club's current reciprocal Clubs and approved a proposal to write to potential reciprocal Clubs around the country. As a result of this process, the Club is pleased to announce the addition of the following new reciprocal Clubs available to Eastlake members:

Duntryleague Golf Club (Orange, NSW)
Hartfield Golf Club (Perth, Western Australia)
Riverside Golf Club (Launceston, Tasmania)
Noosa Springs Golf & Spa Club (Sunshine Coast, Queensland) - (pictured right)

We anticipate that additional Clubs will accept our offer of reciprocal rights in the coming months, and these will be added to the Club's website in due course. Should members wish to play at these or any of the Club's other reciprocal Clubs, they are required to obtain a Letter of Introduction from the Office prior to contacting these Clubs to make a booking.

Greater Sydney Landcare

Native Tree Planting

Members are advised that there will be some temporary hole closures in the next few weeks whilst staff and volunteers are on-site to undertake native tree planting as part of the Club's course safety plans. This Friday and Saturday will see the 4th hole garden planted out by Greater Sydney Landcare volunteers with the 18th hole to be planted out the following Friday 11th October. The tree logs added to these gardens were suggested by Council staff, to act as a potential habitat for native bird and wildlife, improving the sustainability of the site.

Tree removal is also planned for Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th October on the right-hand side of the 6th fairway, which in the short term will open this hole and encourage players to aim away from the houses. We apologize for any inconvenience caused, but it is essential to ensure staff and contractor safety.

Cored Greens

Course Renovations

Members will be pleased to hear that our renovation program is now complete following the coring of the remaining fairways and green surrounds earlier this week. This process is done to improve water and nutrient absorption, and members should see swift recovery over the coming weeks following recent rain and fertilizer applications.

Following a slower recovery last year coming out of winter, it has been decided that the renovation of the tees will take place following the Club Championships during the warmer summer temperatures.

Red Belly Black Snake

Snake Sightings

We would like to remind all members to stay vigilant while out on the course due to recent snake sightings. As the weather warms up, snakes become more active, particularly in grassy and bushy areas around the course. For your safety, we recommend staying on marked paths and keeping an eye out in areas near water or dense vegetation. Your awareness is key to ensuring a safe and enjoyable round of golf.

ATM

ATM Relocation

Members who have visited the Club this week may have noticed that the ATM has been relocated from its usual spot to a new position beside the Bar. This change was made in response to recent gaming legislation that:

  • Prohibits ATMs from being within 5 meters of gaming areas.
  • Prevents ATMs from being visible from the entrance to the gaming area.
  • Bans any signage advertising the presence of the ATM.

The choice of the new location was also influenced by the need for specific internet and wiring access. While we are aware of the ATM's proximity to the existing TAB and Keno facilities, we have been assured by Liquor and Gaming personnel that this new setup complies with all necessary regulations.
