Whilst we encourage all members to enjoy the course, it's essential to remember that maintaining a steady Pace of Play benefits everyone. While recent Saturday competitions have been stroke rounds (traditionally a slower format) there is still a shared responsibility among all players to keep the game moving. We've noticed that early morning groups teeing off before 8 a.m. have been taking up to four hours to complete their rounds. This delay often leads to a 4.5-hour round for those starting later in the morning, which impacts the overall experience for these later groups.
We kindly ask all members to be mindful of their Pace of Play during their next round, ensuring their group maintains a position directly behind the group ahead to prevent delays. Here are a few strategies to help speed up play:
* Keep up with the group in front by arriving to the first tee on time and when called.
* Walk directly to your ball, avoid excessive practice swings and unnecessary delays between shots; and
* Use the "ready golf" method where players move to the next tee immediately upon putting out and be ready to hit when it's their turn.
By adopting these simple strategies, we can all contribute to a smoother, more enjoyable experience for everyone on the course.
