General Manager Notice

It is with mixed emotions that I inform members of my recent decision to resign from the role of General Manager of Eastlake Golf Club, with my final day being Friday, 28th March. This has not been an easy decision, as my time at Eastlake has been incredibly rewarding, both personally and professionally. It has been an immense privilege to work with such a dedicated Board, management team, and staff and I am deeply grateful for the trust and confidence placed in me.

I am excited to share that I have accepted a new role as General Manager of Oatlands Golf Club. The Club is a place that holds significant personal meaning for me, having spent part of my childhood there, and I am thrilled at the opportunity. The Club is embarking on an exciting clubhouse and residential development, and I'm eager to contribute to this exciting next chapter. While I am saddened to leave Eastlake particularly before the completion of the Course Safety Plans, I am confident that the ongoing leadership of the Board and our excellent course team will ensure the project's success.

I will continue to support the transition in any way I can and remain committed to Eastlake's continued success during this period. Thank you all for the incredible experience, my time here has been truly memorable, and I look forward to seeing Eastlake Golf Club continue to thrive in the future.

Regards
Rob Blain

March Course Renovations

Members will be aware that Eastlake Golf Club will be performing green renovations from Monday, March 17th through Wednesday, March 19th, as part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining and improving the course for our members. During this period, the course and practice facilities will be closed to allow our dedicated course team to carry out the bi-annual coring and sanding of the greens.

In addition to these maintenance tasks, we are excited to inform members that the Club's course shaper will be onsite to carry out some work along the right side of the 5th fairway. This will involve the filling in of existing bunkers, as well as the construction of a new bunker on the corner of the dogleg. Furthermore, the grassy hollow on the right side of the 5th green will be reshaped to improve visibility of the green surface from the fairway.

This reshaping work is expected to take approximately a week, with our course team working diligently to re-turf the area once the earthwork is complete. Please note that the sand and soil needed for this project will be delivered and stored to the right of the 5th fairway next week, with the area to be treated as Ground Under Repair (GUR) until the work is complete and the grass has properly established.

Additional work scheduled for this renovation period includes tree removal and thinning along the 9th and 13th holes, weeding of the native bush areas on holes 4 and 18, and some much-needed painting and restoration work on the Halfway House and toilet.

Given the extensive work being completed, we have extended the renovation period by an additional day to ensure minimal impact on your golfing experience. We look forward to seeing the finished results of these improvements and are confident that these upgrades will continue to enhance your golfing experience at Eastlake Golf Club.

Major Pennants

Last weekend saw the Club's Major Pennant team suffer their first loss of the season, going down 4-3 at Camden Golf Club. Despite this setback, the team remains at the top of their section with one final home game remaining. Should the team overcome Camden at home this Sunday, they will qualify for the knockout stage where a qualification match for progression to Division 2 next year beckons.

We wish the team well for this weekend's match and encourage all members to attend the Club to cheer the team on. An up-to-date leaderboard and individual results can be found by clicking on the links below:

Course Sponsorship

Members will no doubt have noticed our new Hole & Sponsor Signage that has recently been erected around the course. This initiative allows sponsors to advertise their business to the more than 60,000 members and guests who visit our course each year. Sponsor's signs will feature prominently directly underneath our new hole signage, ensuring strong visibility throughout the annual sponsorship period.

The cost to become a hole sponsor is $5,000, offering an excellent chance to support Eastlake while gaining significant exposure to our golfing community. Members interested in this opportunity can find the sponsorship proposal booklet with full details below. To get started or to enquire about the program, simply fill out the form at the back of the booklet and return it to General Manager, Rob Blain, at manager@eastlakegolfclub.com.au.

NTP's in Mi-Score

Members are reminded that the daily Nearest the Pin prizes are to be entered through the Mi-Score App, making it easier for members to record their distance. To record your nearest the pin, simply follow these easy steps:

Select the flashing NTP icon (bottom of the screen)
Select 'Add Self.'
Add the distance and confirm.
Your name will appear as 'NearPin' for the hole.

As the image (left) shows, after clicking on the flashing NTP symbol players should select their grade from the drop-down menu before selecting 'Add Self" along with the distance. Please note if your shot is further from the pin to the closest entry, the system will not allow you to record your distance for the hole.

Should the above steps not work, members may need to delete and reinstall the Mi-Score App on their phone. We encourage all members to take advantage of this new, convenient feature.
